๐ Experimental Micro Galton Board
30 Jan 2026 | by Marta
A Galton board demonstrates the central limit theorem: when balls fall through a triangular grid of pegs, they should settle into a "Bell Curve"
๐ ๏ธ Project Details
- Ball Size: 6 mm (0.2 inch) marbles.
- STL file
- Onshape model

This is a Phase 1 prototype of a Galton Board designed for 6mm steel balls. ๐งช
โ ๏ธ Current Status: Experimental
Please note that this is Version 1.0 and is still undergoing calibration! ๐ง
The Issue: In this current design, most balls tend to bounce toward the outermost (extreme) boxes rather than forming a curve in the center.
โ๏ธ Technical Specifications
- Mechanism: Gravity-fed peg board with collection bins.
- Design: Compact, desktop-sized "probability machine."
